MCM MCM Ultra Intense is an Eau de Parfum. MCM Ultra Intense opens with Pink Pepper, settles into a heart of Tuberose, and dries down to a base of Amber and Cedar. MCM's MCM Ultra Intense carries a Favourite verdict, a tuberose-led wear.

A stripped-back, louder reading of MCM Ultra. Pink pepper snaps at the top, tuberose does almost all the work, and cedarwood with golden amber holds the base. Simpler than the original and better for it.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Fall Winter
Also Works:
Spring

A creamy tuberose heart over cedarwood and golden amber carries real floral weight, which suits cooler air. Summer heat pushes the tuberose towards heavy rather than radiant.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date
Also Works:
Office Casual Formal

A dominant tuberose is too characterful for most shared offices but well suited to evenings and dates where a bold floral is welcome.

About

MCM Ultra Intense takes the fruity floral sprawl of MCM Ultra and cuts it down to four moving parts, which is an unusual choice for an Intense flanker and largely a successful one. Pink pepper opens it, dry and faintly rosy, giving a peppery lift rather than a citrus one. There is no fruit basket here, none of the blackcurrant or apple that defines the original, so the start feels sharper and more grown up. Tuberose is the whole heart, and the composition lives or dies on how you feel about it. This is a creamy, slightly waxy tuberose rather than the sulphurous, indolic kind, so it reads rich and sweet rather than challenging, and it carries a soft floral weight that fills out the middle of the wear comfortably. Cedarwood and golden amber close it. The cedar brings a balsamic dryness that stops the tuberose becoming syrupy, while the amber adds a warm, resinous glow underneath. That contrast between the soft flower and the dry wood is the stated concept and it does come across. The brand frames it as challenging traditional ideals of femininity, which is marketing, but the scent is genuinely more assertive than its predecessor. Wear it in autumn and cooler spring, in the evening or on a date, where its floral weight has room.
