Pearl Fragrances Guidance is an Extrait de Parfum. Guidance opens with Pink Pepper, Hazelnut, and Pear, settles into a heart of Rose, Osmanthus, and Saffron, and dries down to a base of Sandalwood, Vanilla, and Ambergris. Pearl Fragrances's Guidance carries a Statement verdict, a fruity-led wear.

Pearl Fragrances copies the pear-and-hazelnut opening that made Amouage Guidance a hit, but strips out the frankincense and osmanthus complexity, leaving a simpler, sweeter fruity-gourmand with far less punch than the 320-pound original.

About

Guidance is Pearl Fragrances' take on one of Amouage's most talked-about recent releases, and it borrows the note that made the original famous: a juicy, almost audacious pear opening paired with a creamy hazelnut facet. That combination is genuinely close to the real thing in the first few minutes of wear. From there the two diverge. Amouage's Guidance builds a dense, incense-driven heart of osmanthus, jasmine sambac and frankincense over a resinous, leathery base that critics call punchy and complex even when they find it polarising. This extrait keeps a lighter rose and saffron heart and swaps the smoky frankincense for a straightforward vanilla-sandalwood base, so the composition reads as a pleasant sweet fruity-floral rather than the Middle Eastern amber-incense powerhouse the original is known for. It is a fair, simplified nod to Guidance's most recognisable feature rather than a full recreation of its far more expensive complexity.
