High End opens in a cloud of aldehydes - that effervescent, soapy sparkle - laced with rosewood, bergamot and a pinch of cardamom, faithfully echoing the dramatic top of the discontinued Fendi classic. The heart unfolds into a powdery floral bouquet of rose, carnation, jasmine and lily of the valley, warm and slightly spicy, before the base reveals the scent's chypre heart: amber, leather, sandalwood and oakmoss laced with vanilla and musk. The original was a take-charge, regal floriental that lasted for days; this Perfume Parlour version renders the same architecture flatter and skin-closer, with the aldehydes brighter on top and the deep leather-moss base thinned. Projection stays moderate and longevity sits in the middle band. A glamorous, vintage-leaning floral chypre best worn in cooler months for evenings and dressy occasions.
