Speed Vroom

Perfume Parlour Speed Vroom is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2023. Speed Vroom opens with Apricot, Mandarin, Bergamot, and Clary Sage, settles into a heart of Osmanthus, Magnolia, and Rose, and dries down to a base of Leather, Georgywood, and Ambrofix. Perfume Parlour's Speed Vroom carries a Favourite verdict, a fruity-led wear.

Speed Vroom chases Penhaligon's Vra Vra Vroom - that glowing apricot-and-osmanthus heart on smooth suede leather. One of the closer Perfume Parlour matches: wearers say it smells like the original but louder and a touch sweeter, with the fruit pushed forward and the suede leather rendered simpler, though it wears surprisingly well.

About

Speed Vroom opens on a juicy, sun-warmed apricot lifted by mandarin, bergamot and a herbal clary-sage whisper - that instantly recognisable golden-fruit sparkle of the Penhaligon's it follows. The heart is the star: a creamy, apricot-tinged osmanthus rounded with magnolia and a soft rose, plush and slightly peachy. Underneath, a suede-like leather with Georgywood and Ambrofix gives a smooth, lightly woody finish. Compared to the original, this Perfume Parlour version reads louder and sweeter - the apricot is more candied and projects harder, while the refined, transparent suede of the Penhaligon's is simplified into a more straightforward soft leather. It is one of PP's stronger likenesses, and unusually for the house it holds up well on skin. A radiant, fruity-floral charmer for spring through autumn that captures Vra Vra Vroom's joyful apricot glow at a fraction of the cost.
