Wood Spring

Perfume Parlour Wood Spring is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2020. Wood Spring opens with Pink Pepper, Grapefruit, Bergamot, and Leather, settles into a heart of Oud, Rose, Patchouli, and Black Tea, and dries down to a base of Tobacco, Incense, Vanilla, and Sandalwood. Perfume Parlour's Wood Spring carries a Statement verdict, a oud-led wear.

A budget take on Montale Oudrising. The smoky leather-and-oud heart, rose dance and sweet tobacco-vanilla drydown all read true, but the dupe wears flatter and skin-closer - the brash, persistent depth of the Montale is softened into something easier and quieter.

About

Wood Spring opens vibrant and pungent with pink pepper, pink grapefruit and bergamot, already tinged with leather. The heart is where it earns its inspiration: smoky oud and rose dance against patchouli, black tea and labdanum, with leather threading through as the main player rather than the oud. The drydown turns creamy and comforting - tobacco, incense, vanilla, sandalwood, amber and cedar. Inspired by Montale Oudrising, it chases that distinctive smoky leather-and-oud-with-sweetness character. As a Perfume Parlour version it renders the composition flatter and more linear, with the inexpensive leather and citrus weighted up and the brash niche woody facets softened, so it projects less and sits closer to the skin than the original's soft-but-persistent trail. The result is a dark, smoky oud-leather that captures the mood of Oudrising for a fraction of the price.
