The Perfumer's Story by Azzi Ditch is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2015, created by Azzi Glasser. Ditch opens with Aquatic, Grass, and Calone, settles into a heart of Myrrh and Frankincense, and dries down to a base of Woody Notes, Vetiver, Oud, and Patchouli. The Perfumer's Story by Azzi's Ditch carries an Acquired verdict, a musk-led wear.

A literal wet-earth scent: grassy green and calone over patchouli, vetiver and oud, with a church-like touch of frankincense and myrrh. A challenging, conceptual daytime scent that wearers either adore or find like dirt, so sample first.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Fall
Also Works:
Spring

Autumn and spring lead the few votes, which suits damp earth and fresh green grass, and winter follows. Summer is the weakest even though the opening is watery.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Casual

Every time-of-day vote says daytime and some say night, but this is a challenging, earthy scent that wearers advise sampling first. It is for the wearer who wants to be noticed for the scent itself rather than for office or evening polish.

About

Ditch is the brand's scent of a ditch after a rainstorm, wet earth, concrete and vegetation colliding in charged air. It began as a collaboration with the Swedish film director Jonas Åkerlund, was made for his music work, and is sold as an eau de parfum in a 30 ml bottle with a black label. A watery accent with green grass and a hint of calone gives it an ozonic, urban opening, then patchouli, vetiver, oud and woods build the earthy, dirty base, with frankincense and myrrh adding a dark, almost ecclesiastical heart. Wearers are blunt: it smells exactly like a damp, earthy, green ditch, a true dirt fragrance, grass growing over wet, humus-rich soil. One finds it moves toward Secretions Magnifiques within minutes, and a critic calls it cold and inorganic with a sharp, mineral opening. Wear is medium for most, with a bright start and a moderate skin scent that lasts a few more hours, though one wearer found it gone almost instantly. Every time-of-day vote says daytime, and autumn and spring lead the few season votes. It is listed as unisex. Reception is polarised: eight of 14 voters love it and some call it a masterpiece, while others find it not very wearable. It is a conceptual scent for those who want something beyond the conventional, and it is not a blind buy.
