Wild Orchid is another Jenny Glow take on Tom Ford's Black Orchid, this time built around a warmer, sweeter interpretation than its sibling Orchid Noir, with a distinct rum-honey opening rather than plum-truffle. The opening combines Italian bergamot with rum and honey - an unusual and genuinely interesting trio that pairs bright citrus against a boozy, sweet warmth, rum in particular contributing a dark, molasses-like richness uncommon in budget perfumery. The heart delivers a doubled-down orchid theme: a velvet orchid accord alongside black orchid itself, creating a dense, heady floral impression that leans into the dark, luxurious mood the Black Orchid name is known for. The base is simply vanilla, a warm, sweet, comforting finish that ties the rum-honey opening and the heady orchid heart together into a cohesive, gourmand-tinged oriental-floral. Compared to its sibling Orchid Noir's drier, truffle-driven approach, Wild Orchid takes the sweeter, more gourmand route to the same Black Orchid inspiration.
