Naughton & Wilson Old Money is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2025, created by John Stephen. Old Money opens with Bergamot, Bitter Orange, Cypress, and Pepper, settles into a heart of Bourbon, Cedar, Iris, and Geranium, and dries down to a base of Suede, Oak, Musk, and Amber. Naughton & Wilson's Old Money carries a Statement verdict, a woody-led wear.

A boozy, mossy tobacco woody with maraschino cherry, bourbon, oak and suede, like a gentlemen's club in a bottle. Refined, warm and best from autumn into winter; most report long wear, though one reviewer finds it fades.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Autumn Winter

Winter leads on a unanimous vote, with autumn and spring close behind: tobacco, bourbon, moss and suede suit the cold, and the cherry opening keeps it light enough for spring. Summer is the weakest, and one wearer finds it shines in moderate temperatures.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date Formal
Also Works:
Office Casual

Evenings and nights lead, and a wearer calls it a very classy formal evening scent, but it also sees out a workday and works in daily wear. It is not a sport scent.

About

Old Money is a classic tobacco woody from Naughton and Wilson, composed by English perfumer John Stephen. The brand pictures a private gentlemen's club with leather armchairs and classical artwork, and the scent weaves aged spirits, smooth woods and rich aromatics into an elegant, reassuring signature. It opens with a boozy maraschino cherry lifted by aldehydes, bitter orange, clary sage and black pepper, over bergamot, juniper berry, cypress and galbanum. The heart is tobacco and bourbon with carnation, iris, clove and dried fruits, and the base is a dank, rich moss with patchouli, oak, suede, amber, tonka bean and vetiver. Wearers call it hard to pull apart, with a cocoa edge from the patchouli, and reviewers find it the most complex scent the house has made. Most voters report long wear, and one wearer counts eight to ten hours, though a reviewer who was gifted the bottle finds it fades to a skin scent within a few hours. Projection is moderate to strong. It is rated for winter first, with autumn and spring close behind, and reads as a formal evening scent that also works at the office. One wearer hears the Guerlain L'Instant pour Homme in it, and the mossy tobacco base is close in spirit to the house's Gravitas. The brand sells the 100 ml at 140 pounds, and it suits anyone who likes a dry, vintage-leaning men's scent with a cherry twist.
