Imagination is Pearl Fragrances' oil interpretation of Louis Vuitton's Imagination, the Jacques Cavallier citrus fragrance widely praised for its distinctive black tea heart. The opening is the strongest part of the translation, with a sharp, zesty bergamot and orange burst that closely tracks the original's invigorating start. Where it falls short is the middle: Louis Vuitton's version is defined by reviewers almost entirely by its dry, slightly smoky black tea accord, described as the note that gives the fragrance its soul, and here that accord is present but thinner, sitting alongside ginger and neroli rather than dominating the way it does in the original. The base leans on amber and guaiac wood for warmth rather than the more sophisticated ambroxan-driven dry-down of the LV version, giving it a simpler, more generic woody-amber finish. As an oil, it stays close to the skin rather than projecting the way the spray does, though it holds its citrus brightness for longer than most fresh fragrances manage. It's a decent, wearable citrus-woody scent, but the signature tea note that made the original distinctive is noticeably diminished.
