Mukhalat Al Emirates

Mukhalat Al Emirates describes a style rather than a specific product. Multiple UAE-based perfume houses sell an attar under this name, and every one uses some variation of the same regional template: rose, saffron, oud and amber, blended into what's often described as one of the most classic profiles of Gulf perfumery. Pearl's version opens with saffron and a touch of bergamot before a substantial Turkish-style rose heart takes over, deepened by jasmine and a real dose of agarwood. The base is a warm amber, patchouli and sandalwood blend that gives it a rounded, slightly sweet finish rather than a sharp or medicinal one. It's a rich, traditional composition, closer in spirit to the mukhalat oils sold across Dubai's perfume souks than to any single Western designer release, and it should be judged as an example of that genre rather than a dupe of a specific brand. Projection is modest, in keeping with the oil format, but the rose-oud combination holds well on skin through a long evening. It's a solid, faithful rendition of a well-established regional style.
