Purposeful Essence

Purposeful Essence opens bold and resinous: frankincense, pimento, pink pepper and bergamot strike with heat and a mineral, slightly cool edge that mirrors Amouage Purpose 50. The heart turns earthy and refined with papyrus, sandalwood and vetiver over a touch of rose, lending dryness and subtle floral depth. The base is smoky and leathery - akigalawood, suede, saffron, vanilla and the Mystikal molecule wrapping it in warmth and mystery. Against the original, which is a 50% extrait, the gap is real: Perfume Parlour reproduces the dark woody-incense character but flatter and simpler, without the original's seamless, three-dimensional resinous depth, and the legendary 12-hour-plus longevity is trimmed to something more modest. Projection is moderate early before settling close. A sophisticated, mysterious woody-incense for cool days, the office, formal wear and evenings.
