Blue Oud

Blue Oud is one of Pearl Fragrances' house attars rather than a copy of a single named perfume - several UAE and Saudi houses sell a fragrance under this name, each with a different formula, and Pearl's version follows the loose genre convention of pairing agarwood with a cooling musk. A light bergamot and pink pepper opening gives way quickly to a dense oud heart, backed by patchouli and a touch of rose for warmth. The base settles into musk, amber and sandalwood, giving the oil a smooth, slightly sweet finish rather than the more animalic, medicinal character some pure ouds carry. As an attar it behaves as expected: strong up close, with almost no throw beyond arm's length, but real staying power on skin through a full evening. It reads more accessible than a serious niche oud, softened for everyday wear rather than pitched as a statement scent. Anyone expecting a specific designer reference point should know there isn't one here - this is Pearl's own take on the well-worn blue oud attar style, and it does that style competently without pretending to be anyone else's formula.
