The Perfume Studio: what is in the kit

29 materials, matched to 78 notes. Made by The Perfume Studio

Kits: You blend these materials yourself.

The Perfume Studio is a UK business that helps you create a fragrance of your own. Besides its perfume design experiences at venues, it sells design-your-own kits to use at home. A kit is a set of scented materials you blend yourself, and here the materials are the studio's Eau de Parfum blends.

On this page we list all 29 blends and match each one to the notes we hold. Our matching leans towards spicy, citrus and resin notes.

The Perfume Studio sells direct at theperfumestudio.com, in pounds. At the last check, its themed Design Your Own Fragrance collections were £49 each, The Perfumer's Edit, with 15 blends, was £99, and the Fragrance Discovery Collection, with 24 blends and your first 30ml refill included when you register your blend, was £165. The Discovery Collection also includes tools and atomisers, and the studio says its blends are made in the UK. It also sells refills and gift vouchers. Checked 28 Oct 2026.

What you can make with it

You pick blends from a kit and combine them until you have a scent you want to keep. Once you register a blend online, the studio can make refills of it to order. Add what you make to your collection as a custom perfume and tick the blends you used.

The materials

What each material maps to in our vocabulary. The mapping is ours: a material may be a single ingredient or an accord built from many, and a note stands for how it smells, not for what is in it. Percentages are relative weights inside our scent model, not ingredient percentages.
