Dolceacqua

by Delphine Thierry

Masque Milano Dolceacqua is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2020, created by Delphine Thierry. The fragrance opens with Lily Of The Valley, Ivy, Marjoram, and Sea Water, settles into a heart of Rose, Almond Blossom, Mimosa, and Ylang-Ylang, and dries down to a base of Oakmoss, Musk, Cedar, and Saffron.

Our verdict on Dolceacqua: Favourite

This is a divisive one. Dolceacqua aims for modern elegance but some find it too vintage, even 'matronly'. If you like classic soapy florals, particularly mimosa and lily of the valley, and crave a 'modernised' Chanel No. 5 vibe, this could be for you. Others find it unexpectedly salty or bitter and reminiscent of 'dusty mothballs'.

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Summer

A warm-weather pick - at its best in spring and summer.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Office Formal
Also Works:
Date Casual

Its moderate projection and elegant floral profile make it suitable for office and formal wear, leaning into its classic, clean feel. It's not a powerhouse, so it won't overwhelm, making it versatile for daytime casual wear too. It's too delicate and refined for active sports.

About

Dolceacqua opens with a distinctly green and fresh burst of lily of the valley and ivy, subtly touched by a watery, almost coastal, breeze. The heart is a bouquet of delicate yellow florals, primarily mimosa and almond blossom, which lend a soft, powdery sweetness, balanced by the richer ylang-ylang. The drydown settles into a classic, musky oakmoss base, with a hint of warm saffron and resinous benzoin providing a comforting depth.
