Ylang in Gold
M.Micallef Ylang in Gold is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2012, created by Jean-Claude Astier. The fragrance opens with Rose, Caramel, and Bergamot, settles into a heart of Coconut, Jasmine, Orange Blossom, and Ylang-Ylang, and dries down to a base of Sandalwood, Musk, and Vanilla.
Our verdict on Ylang in Gold: Favourite
Prepare for a divisive experience. Some will find this a heavenly tropical gourmand, a 'happiness in a bottle' that's creamy, sweet, and comforting. Others will be met with a 'bug spray' or 'cough syrup' opening, a synthetic Ylang that induces nausea, or simply an overwhelming cloying sweetness with little depth. Definitely not a safe blind buy.

Best Seasons
Versatile across every season - no clear seasonal preference from wearers.
Best Occasions
Its sweet and gourmand nature, coupled with reports of it being very strong, make it less suitable for office wear. However, its luxurious, tropical, and creamy profile makes it a fantastic choice for dates and casual outings, particularly in warmer weather. It's sophisticated enough for some formal events, but the distinct sweetness might be too much for others.
